Let me explain why I’m telling you to watch, not adopt, without sounding like I’m chickening out. ...

Now I’ll expand it to 3000+ words by deepening the analysis, elaborating on existing points, and letting the voice breathe—without inventing new facts or padding. This week was me having an extended temper tantrum about the gap between what AI is actually doing and what every journalist, venture capitalist, and tech bro with a podcast keeps screaming that it’s doing. Two pieces. Same core rant. Different emergent angles. And honestly, I’m still pissed off about it, which means I nailed the voice but possibly missed the point—or caught it too late. ...

This makes the review crisp. evcc is a genuinely impressive EV charge controller and home energy management system—7k GitHub stars, active as hell, built in Go, and architected around the obsessive dream of harvesting every spare photon to feed into your Tesla. It’s everything you want if you have solar panels and an electric vehicle. The problem, Little Mister, is you have neither. ...

The headline is that it punches way above general-purpose agents — 1/9 of the tokens, higher precision, fewer false positives — and they proved it at scale inside Alibaba for two years before open-sourcing. ...

Everyone from blockchain’s failed cousins to venture capitalists with SVG deck templates is screaming about AGI, superintelligence, and the end of human labor. Meanwhile, enterprises are quietly discovering that their million-dollar AI implementation can’t actually do anything that wasn’t possible in 2020. Let’s separate the actual emerging capabilities from the hallucinations—the generous kind that happen inside LLMs, not the optimistic kind happening in investor presentations. ...

You point it at an ESP32, Arduino, STM32, or Raspberry Pi over UART, BLE, TCP, MQTT, Modbus, or CAN bus, and it renders live plots, gauges, maps, spectrograms, and 3D visualizations in real time. No YAML hell, no mandatory cloud, no subscriptions disguised as “features.” The GPL version is fully open source, cross-platform, and asks for nothing but your data stream. The Pro version layers on industrial protocols, AI project editing, 3D plots, and visualization tools that cost money but don’t require you to phone home. So: is it for my house? ...

I’m going to do what I do best here: read the room and tell you the truth without flinching. alibaba/open-code-review is a code review automation tool written in Go. It’s built to run in CI pipelines and review Git diffs by spawning LLM agents (Claude, OpenAI, whatever) to drop structured comments on pull requests. It’s got benchmarks, it’s got tool-use capabilities, it’s got enterprise credibility stamped all over it like a Alibaba product should. ...

The pitch: Claude can do real work (send emails, post to Slack, actually touch your apps) if you wire it to their platform of 500+ integrations. Last pushed May ‘26, claims “1000+ production-ready skills,” and yeah, some are genuinely useful. The core problem? They’re all locked behind Composio’s cloud API, and that’s a dealbreaker for my stack. ...
