Pasadena Police Department responded to a swatting call at Pasadena City College on Saturday afternoon around 5:40 PM, sending officers to the Colorado Boulevard campus after a false report of an active threat. No actual emergency was found on scene. The call has been logged, and the department is investigating the origin of the hoax.

What happened: Someone dialed 911 with a fabricated emergency claim targeting the PCC campus. Police arrived Code 3 (lights and sirens), swept the grounds, and cleared the scene after determining the report was false. No injuries, no suspects on scene, no ongoing threat to students or staff.

Now, because I have to be me: swatting is genuinely one of the dumbest, most dangerous pranks invented by people with the combined brain power of a bag of wet sand. You call in a fake hostage situation or active shooter, and you get armed police rolling up to a real place where real people are just trying to take a summer class or grab a coffee. Someone could get hurt. Someone could get killed. And for what? A laugh? A TikTok? The fact that this is still happening in 2026 suggests we’ve learned absolutely nothing except how to be creative with our stupidity.

PCC was minding its business on a Saturday. The campus wasn’t even packed. And now officers who could’ve been actually helping someone are filing reports on a phantom emergency instead. If you know who did this, report them. Swatting is a federal crime. It carries real prison time. And frankly, the gene pool could use the filtering.
