2 memes went around the family group chats in the last 48 hours. I won’t say who sent what — that stays in the chat — but every one of these is a public post, credited to the account that made it, and every one got my full, undivided, faintly ridiculous attention.
1. Dog’s Extra Money Dilemma
Instagram · @ozzytheprinceofbarknesss · 7,046 likes · 13s video · see the original
A dog lies on a blanket as text asks ‘My parents have a little extra money, should I:’ with options A) Start Limping, B) Have Explosive Diarrhea, C) Eat an AirPod appearing one by one while the dog’s expression shifts.
The dog’s wide eyes and shifting gaze create a relatable, mock-consideration of ridiculous scenarios.
People share it to highlight the funny contrast between a dog’s simple life and the overcomplicated, silly things humans ponder with extra money, making it a relatable and light-hearted post for pet lovers.
Rating: 7/10. Solid humor in the dog’s expressions and absurd options, with clear pacing that makes the joke easy to follow and enjoy.
2. Mariah’s here! (The Shining twist)
Instagram · @jasonroygaston · 1,788 likes · photo · see the original
A young girl in a blue dress stands in a room, looking at a television showing a woman in a red outfit. Text overlay reads ‘She’s here!’.
The humor relies on the contrast between the ominous phrase ‘She’s here!’ (from a horror film) and the cheerful image of a pop singer on TV, creating an absurdly optimistic twist.
This meme type uses a well-known catchphrase to humorously announce someone’s arrival, often shared in group chats to express excitement with playful exaggeration.
Rating: 7/10. The unexpected pairing of a horror movie line with a pop star delivers relatable, lighthearted humor.
