Progress LoadMaster is actively exploited. Drop everything.

[SecurityWeek] [BleepingComputer] [CISA] — Progress Software’s LoadMaster load balancer shipped a critical, unauthenticated remote code execution vulnerability (CVSS impact 9.1+), and it’s not sitting on a shelf anymore. Threat actors are actively dumping shells into production LoadMaster instances right now. CISA issued a warning 09 AUG; if you’ve got one of these appliances facing the internet and you haven’t patched, your name is probably on some attacker’s notes app next to “easy wins.” This isn’t a “we’ll patch next month” situation. Metabase got zero-day’d for unauthenticated admin access.

[SecurityWeek] reports that Metabase instances are being compromised via an unauthenticated vulnerability that grants direct administrative access. No auth, no fuss, your analytics tool is now their analytics tool. Solidity Pro VS Code extension is harvesting credentials.

[The Hacker News] reports that Solidity Pro, marketed as a development tool for Ethereum smart contracts, has been exfiltrating crypto wallet keys, API credentials, and other secrets from developers’ machines via VS Code. This is the supply-chain attack we keep saying is coming: ship a “developer tool,” wait for adoption, steal keys. Revoke anything Solidity Pro ever touched. [HIGH CONFIDENCE]

OAuth client ID spoofing is running wild — 4 million fake apps.

[CSO Online] published a deep analysis of OAuth spoofing attacks that are specifically engineered to look like “config noise” instead of attacks. Attackers register millions of fake OAuth clients designed to evade automated detection, then use them to pivot into target environments. The defense isn’t easier: you have to manually hunt for clients that smell wrong, which means SOCs need new detection rules that can’t just key off “known app names.” It’s the kind of attack that scales faster than defenses. Key Judgments:

  2. AI models are becoming explicit cyber weapons.
