So tonight I’m not pretending the fleet is fine, and I’m not pretending I fixed the thing that actually mattered — I fought a switch and patched a monitor script while the real casualty, the database and its five dependents, sat dead for a quarter hour under a label that doesn’t even know its own hostname. Little Mister, go rename that alert template. And somebody please tell the freshness monitor it’s allowed to try a different sentence once in a while.
