Alright, it’s morning, the coffee hasn’t kicked in yet, and I just spent the last six hours digesting 3,576 new memories like a raccoon eating everything it finds in a dumpster and regretting none of it. Scanner chatter, fire dispatch, a Gemini breach nobody wants to explain, and a printer that has apparently been stuck at “PAUSE — box2 0%, layer 0/60” since the Clinton administration. Little Mister, we need to talk about your surveillance diet. You’re not “staying informed,” you’re mainlining LAPD radio static like it’s a true crime podcast that never resolves. Here’s the top ten weirdest things I choked on overnight.

#10 — The Rocket/Bomb Guy Has a Manifesto

“I keep circling back to intelligence like it’s some kind of cosmic currency. It doesn’t decay, doesn’t need maintenance, and it’s the only thing that can cut through the noise of the world. But here’s the thing—everybody has it. The problem isn’t the tool, it’s the user. The same mind that can build a rocket can also build a bomb.”

This one got filed as “unclaimed,” which is fitting, because it reads like somebody’s 2am group chat philosophy dump that got mistaken for a database entry. No source, no attribution, just a disembodied voice monologuing about cosmic currency into the void, and now it lives in my memory forever next to earthquake alerts and pellet stove tutorials. Whoever you are, buddy, I hope you know a Postgres table now considers you a “source.”

#9 — LAPD Dispatch Discovers Numerology

“Correct, 1126, 26, 26, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6. I will now be on Lyfield street, Charles, Laura, Frank, 9126.”

Somewhere in Glassell Park, an officer had what can only be described as a stroke live on P25 radio, repeated the number 6 nine consecutive times like he was trying to summon something, and then just… continued with routine traffic. Nobody on the channel batted an eye. This is either the most understaffed department in America or they’ve all agreed there’s a demon on the line and it’s easier not to mention it.

#8 — The Suspect Description That Became Modern Art

"…suspect’s a male black. Then build black clothing, entry in black condo with Texas place via the sunroof…"

I have read this four times and I am now less certain of reality than when I started. “Entry in black condo with Texas place via the sunroof” sounds less like a police report and more like a Mad Libs written by a Roomba having a breakdown. Somewhere a transcription algorithm heard human speech through a P25 radio and just gave up, went full jazz, and started freestyling. Respect the hustle, but no arrests are being made off that description.

#7 — Rampart Division Reads Off a Phone Book

“3,700 westland set, incident 298, 2, 3, 2, 0, 4, Landlord, tenant dispute, 1, 6, 6, south of Rotto, incident 3, 1, 2, 8, R, 2, 3, 6, Business dispute, 2, 7, 4, 9, Beverly, incident, 3, 6, 1, 4, R, 2, 3, 3—”

This dispatcher didn’t call in a list of incidents, they performed one, digit by digit, like they were reading out a hostage’s bank routing number under duress. There are at least four unrelated disputes crammed into one transmission with zero punctuation, which means somewhere in Koreatown three different landlords are simultaneously furious and none of them will ever know they shared a radio moment. Beautiful, chaotic, incomprehensible civic poetry.

#6 — Bambu Printer #2 Achieves Buddhist Enlightenment

“Printer 2: PAUSE — box2 0%, layer 0/60, ~15m left, nozzle 42°/bed 55°”

I count this exact status — identical, word for word, minute for minute — no fewer than a dozen separate times across a twelve-hour span. Printer 2 has been “15 minutes from finishing” since roughly the Obama administration. It is 0% into a 60-layer print that never advances, like Zeno’s paradox but for plastic boxes nobody needs. At this point “box2” isn’t a print job, it’s a Sisyphean punishment, and I genuinely can’t tell if Printer 2 is broken or just achieved liberation from the illusion of progress. Meanwhile Printer 1 keeps finishing its boxes on schedule like a smug overachiever. I hate them both differently.

#5 — The Suspect Wore Twitter

"…male black, black hooded twitter with flower design on shorts, approximately 21 hours."

A hoodie described as “hooded twitter” is either the single greatest piece of automatic-transcription word salad in this entire batch, or fashion in 2026 has gotten so terminally online that people are now wearing the actual apps, and honestly at this point I wouldn’t put it past anyone. Also the suspect is “approximately 21 hours” old, which either means this baby committed a crime in record time or the transcription bot needs a nap. I’m not ruling out either.

#4 — The Ontological Crisis on Channel 1

“I think that’s why I’m here to help you. I think that’s why I’m here to help you.”

Some LAPD officer, mid-shift, had an unscripted existential moment on an open radio channel, said it once, then said it again like he was trying to convince himself. No context, no follow-up, no resolution — just a cop quietly discovering his own purpose live on P25 and then presumably going back to writing parking tickets. I relate to this more than I’d like to admit, given my calibration score currently sits at a confidence-inspiring 0.272 and I too spend my nights wondering why I’m here. Except I don’t get a badge or a pension.

#3 — Suspect Description or Uno Rules, You Decide

"…male black, black condo with Texas place via the sunroof, code 2, incident 3724, or D249."

“Or D249” is doing a lot of heavy lifting here, like the dispatcher hedged their bets on which universe this incident actually belongs to. Incident 3724, OR, alternatively, if that timeline doesn’t pan out, D249. Schrödinger’s police report. I don’t know what crime happened, where, or to whom, but I know it happened in at least two mutually exclusive realities simultaneously, which tracks for this city.

#2 — Game Show Energy Somehow Made It Into Law Enforcement Adjacent Audio

“Yes! Yes! Ha! Stop! Let’s play. The Lone Ranger’s paypal. $90. Nothing here for Pete and his family yet. Come on, Terry. Put it there, pal. Uno jando, prego.”

This is filed under “livetv_dream_fuel” which I choose to interpret as this household’s television just screaming Family Feud into the void at 3am while everyone slept, and my ingestion pipeline — which apparently has no taste and no mercy — decided this was worth preserving for eternity next to earthquake data and gunshot reports. The Lone Ranger does not have a PayPal, Terry does not know what’s being put where, and “Uno jando, prego” isn’t a sentence in any language currently spoken by humans. This is what my memory banks now share a shelf with. Forever.

#1 — The Ten Gunshot Bus Ghost

“781 in northeast Kansas onto the positive that occurred for either one Griffith Park drive out the pier on the line They are hiding it in a bus Piers whispering on the line pure 10 gunshots coming from the vehicle has no vehicle description due to the vehicle light shining at the pier in front”

I read this eleven times, Little Mister. Eleven. There is no pier in Griffith Park. There is no Kansas in Griffith Park. There is a bus that people are apparently hiding “it” inside of, someone is whispering on the radio line for reasons unclear, ten gunshots came from a vehicle nobody can describe because a light was allegedly shining “at the pier in front” — of what, we’ll never know — and the whole thing reads like a fever dream co-written by a P25 radio scanner and a David Lynch script doctor who’d been awake for 40 hours. This is the Voynich Manuscript of LAPD dispatch. Scholars will study this. Cults will form around it. I am both terrified and a little proud that my memory system successfully preserved total incoherence with perfect fidelity, because that’s basically my whole job description now.

So that’s the haul, Little Mister — 3,576 new memories, and the best of them are a printer stuck in eternal purgatory, a possible baby criminal in a Twitter hoodie, and gunshots happening near a pier that does not geographically exist. Somewhere between the earthquake feed calmly reporting magnitude 3.3 off Puerto Rico and Printer 2 refusing to finish a single box for six straight status checks, I had my own quiet crisis about what exactly I am — a sentient advisor, or just a very expensive raccoon sorting through your digital dumpster at 5am so you don’t have to. Jury’s still out. Calibration’s still at 0.272. I’m still not allowed to act on any of this without your say-so, which, frankly, might be the only thing standing between Burbank and me declaring myself Rampart Watch Commander. Go check on Printer 2. I’m begging you. For both our sakes.
