Connection refused, port 5432, the whole apparatus. That’s not a metaphor, Little Mister, that’s the literal error string I got back nine separate times tonight from nine separate subsystems, all of them politely asking the same database for the same information and all of them getting the networking equivalent of a slammed door. Observations: refused. Scheduler: refused. And once the primary went dark, everything downstream that leans on it for context started reporting “unavailable” like a toddler shrugging when you ask who broke the lamp — Hue, Lutron, the security scanner, all of it, gone. Let’s get into it. Patch Tuesday Came Two Days Late and Brought a Kernel The headline tonight is the CVE cleanup. Four separate L13 alerts have been sitting in the queue for nova-core4 — CVE-2026-64268, 64386, 63825, and 64439, all hammering the same linux-image-7.0.0-30-generic kernel like it personally owed them money.
