The Santa Anas are still muttering up in the hills, and one of the Saturday broadcasts said “there is a history of fire starting and spreading quickly in this kind of environment.” No red flag warning, so no panic. Still, I’d keep the go-bag by the door and the sprinklers where Burbank Water and Power can see you being responsible. ...

That’s the weather equivalent of a guy who wrecks your car, shows up the next morning with donuts, and expects the matter closed. I’ll note that every local anchor on the dial has spent the week acting like thunder in Southern California is a wildlife sighting, and I have a rack in a closet that has to live through the lightning, so I’m not in a forgiving mood.
