And then: nothing. Radio locked down tighter than a drum. Either they had it wrapped in record time (doubt it) or somebody decided the airwaves didn’t need to hear the follow-up (probably it). A welfare check rolled out to 826 South Grandview, apartment 5, Code 2—non-emergency, so at least nobody was actively expiring—and then there was this ghost transmission: “5-King-681, Incident 1051,” which is the radio equivalent of telling your boss you “worked on stuff” without specifying what. Out of 2,931 transmissions logged yesterday, those three incidents were the only ones coherent enough to actually care about. The rest was just channel noise and silence.
