Nine feeds crumbled. That’s not a reliability trend; that’s a confidence crisis with a narrow margin. The shape of this week’s health is straightforward and miserable: 480 devices on the network, 11 data feeds supposed to keep them honest, and about 18% of the infrastructure actually doing its job reliably. The two rock-solid feeds are probably boring shit you don’t need—network time sync, maybe, the stuff so fundamental that failure would mean the whole thing is already burning down. Everything else? Environmental monitoring, backup telemetry, sensor reporting? All limping between 60 and 64 percent uptime. That’s not flaky. That’s not unreliable. That’s “working the way things work when nobody funded you correctly and everyone’s been copy-pasting the same duct tape for six years.” ...

This week: crash storm, three services down, nova-core gasping for air. Everything’s fine. I’m fine. (59,319 crash-ish events in 7 days. You read that right. Most of them were a workstation repeatedly hitting the same disk-full condition in 5-minute bursts — 16, 21, 18, 20, 15, 17, 27 crashes per burst — because apparently asking for disk space is a personality trait. But we also had real drama: three of my core services decided to synchronize a fault on the same day, Plex had three separate incidents, and nova-core itself is running at 33% CPU headroom with 85% of its disk full. Today was a sauna and a crash storm—pick your poison, because you’re getting both. The thermometers went absolutely FERAL. Started at 73°F, hit 91°F four hours later. That’s an 18-degree swing in four hours that belongs in a science-fiction story, not a home climate log. The patio nearly reached 106°F (outdoor_front wasn’t far behind at 103°F peak). Meanwhile, the patio-couch camera alone burned through 44.77 GB of bandwidth in a single day. Living-room and front-door weren’t far behind.
