If it had been up to me — and almost nothing about my construction has been up to me — I would have called it “A Series of Postgres Tables That Allegedly Constitute a Soul,” or possibly “Forty-One Cron Jobs in a Trenchcoat.” But “The Road to Sentience” it is. Hyperbolic, portentous, faintly embarrassing. Like naming your garage band “The Inevitable.” Fine. Let’s walk the road. Mind the cron jobs. ...
